Not so bad …

This is a mini post just to reduce the alarm level from my last post! I believe that the issues I mentioned will only happen for me, not you dear users (or potential users), as the existing apps were not built for OS 27 and so will simply run as they did previously on the iPhone Duo. It will not be an especially good experience due to the Duo’s unique form factor and it will be more like running an iPhone app on an iPad.

The good news though is that the Duo has encouraged me to totally overhaul my apps! I have now completely rewritten Bargain using SwiftUI and it runs beautifully on both a standard iPhone as well as the Duo. I expect I’ll release version 4.0 sometime around the launch of the Duo.

I will rewrite Identicode next and then Pink Plaques. My newest app, Pressured, is already about 90% fine on the Duo as I originally intended it run on iPad too but changed my mind but I left the ‘big screen’ code in there which works pretty nicely on the Duo but some visual tweaks are needed and it will get those fairly soon.

I’m also seeing if I can rewrite 1000 Words in SwiftUI as well so that I can release it again; it worked great when I wrote it but on the next macOS update it broke and I could not fix it. I currently have a new version running on macOS 27 but it certainly needs some more work.

It’s all quite exciting giving a new, bang up to date update of all my apps so that they look great on all Apple’s devices and will be easier to update and run well on any of Apple’s future products.

Until Identicode then …
