Bargain and Identicode now updated on the App Store

Two years after the last Bargain update, and one after that for Identicode, they have been tweaked, enhanced, freshly polished and ready for you to download.

You can see what’s changed on my website, in the Release Notes or on Apple’s App Store.

Note that both now require at least an iPhone 4S, rather than an iPhone 4 as previously.

Enjoy.

Finally, some updates on their way to Apple!

Apologies for the delay, but I’ve started a new day job and it’s five days a week! That means less time available for apps, but have no fear – I plan to keep my apps available for the latest devices for as long as seems feasible.

Because I haven’t updated some apps for at least a year they may not play well with iPhone X – certainly, Pink Plaques does not look good on Apple’s latest device. The good news though is that I’ve just submitted both an updated Bargain and Identicode which work nicely on Apple’s latest – I’ll let you know when they’ve been approved for sale.

To get Pink Plaques ready to look its best on anything from iPod touch to iPhone X will need some significant changes, but I’m on the case. After that, comes Dicewords. There will be some other changes to Pink Plaques which I’ll detail nearer the time.

After that (whew!) it’s my first app for Macintosh – quite simple but hopefully very handy for those it’s aimed at.

Bargain V2.3 now available

Apple have approved Bargain for sale. 🙂

This has been tested for iOS 10 and boasts a clearer indication of the bargain when you find it by colouring the whole background of the fields rather than just the text! It also disallows a comparison if a quantity is 0 – previously it would display a price of infinity I think!

Enjoy finding those bargains.

Bargain V2.2 now available

Apple have approved Bargain for sale. 🙂

This has been tested for iOS 9 and boasts a higher quality smiley for when you discover that bargain! It also ensures that after finding a bargain and you clear one field and press Compare that it resets the screen to a correct appearance.

Enjoy finding those bargains.

App updates waiting for Apple to review

Apple now have three of my apps in their queue(s) to review. Due to some unplanned last minute changes to Dicewords and Dicewords-X I have not yet sent those two to Apple but I hope that will happen in the next few days, if not then next week.

Mostly all were running fine anyway but I’ve added a new sharing feature to Identicode, tidied up some screen reset issues in Bargain and enhanced Pink Plaques so that if you are running iOS 9 or later, it will use Apple’s new Safari view within the app to view any web pages which is more secure and convenient for you. Remember, that even if you are not using iOS 9 you can still view the same page in Safari by tapping ‘Safari’ in the top right of the screen.

I’ll post again when I have more news.

Bargain V2.1 now live

Apple have just passed my recent update to Bargain. 🙂

Previously, once you’d found a bargain, if you did “Shake to clear”, when you re-entered values in the previous “bargain boxes” the text would still appear green – that’s now fixed and it’s back to black.

The other thing is a little helper in that the flip side screen now displays the version number at the bottom in case you need to report anything.

That’s it for now.
